A New Approach to MANAGING Gastrointestinal Risk: Helping to Modulate Quorum Sensing
Research conducted by CCPA in collaboration with Roskilde University suggests that the combination of several aromatic compounds interferes with bacterial coordination mechanisms: quorum sensing. In particular, the trials showed a reduction in biofilm formation and in the expression of virulence genes.
This new understanding of digestive risk provides producers with an additional tool to support performance, particularly feed efficiency and growth potential during critical stages of production.
Tangible benefits for livestock farmers
The effectiveness of this strategy is enhanced when it is part of a comprehensive digestive health program. Field data obtained with Securitor®, a supplemental solution used during periods of oxidative stress, show up to a +5% ADG, a 3 % improvement in the feed conversion ratio, as well as improvements in the performance index in several trials conducted in 2025–2026.
