“Not even scared!”, a documentary on the challenges of setting up a dairy farming business
A film that gives a voice to dairy farmers at a time when their profession is sometimes disparaged in the media
Thierry Hetreau, vet and trainer at the Poisy breeding centre (Haute-Savoie) and Hervé Morainville, director of the Bureau Technique de Promotion Laitière (BTPL = Technical Office for Dairy Promotion) are behind this documentary film “Not even scared!” hrough the testimonies of dairy farmers from different regions of France, they highlight the challenges, difficulties, satisfactions and worries of dairy farmers.
The “Not even scared!” team wants to present the breeder profession in a straightforward way, showing both the good times and the difficulties they face in their daily lives. This initiative should help to spread a positive and dynamic image of livestock farming.
A crowdfunding campaign to contribute to technical costs
The team has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Kisskissbank.com website until 10 April 2017! Internet users are being called upon to raise €7,500. The funds will be used to gather additional testimonies in several French regions, and to take aerial shots, so that every breeder can feel represented in the film, and so that everyone can see the diversity of today’s livestock farms.
The film will be released in autumn 2018, with around 60 screenings and discussion evenings planned across France.
A real breath of optimism highlighting the dairy farmers of tomorrow!
