GALAPHOS® Nature, minerals composed of natural antioxidants

Flavonoids, an essential role for ruminants

Centuries of co-evolution between plants and ruminants have led to a perfect balance. Flavonoids, plant metabolites, can be found in all forage and are therefore a natural component of ruminant feed. However, the development of livestock farming towards rations incorporating a limited number of plant species that are richer in protein and energy has resulted in the essential role of flavonoids for animals being forgotten.

Nature at the heart of minerals

GALAPHOS® Nature is a range of minerals that is more respectful of the needs of animals and the well-being of breeders. It draws its naturalness from the heart of plant extracts, rich in flavonoids, which have a higher antioxidant value than vitamin E, thus optimising animal performance. Their actions are complementary since vitamin E is fat-soluble and protects the cell membrane, while flavonoids are water-soluble and act directly inside the cell. Their effectiveness against oxidative stress is therefore optimised, improving breeding performance. GALAPHOS® Nature minerals meet all livestock farming needs (grazing, reproduction, drying up, etc.) and are available in 25 kg bags and 600 and 1,000 kg big bags.

The highly convenient Micro-Semolina

GALAPHOS® Nature comes in a Micro-Semolina format. The Micro-Semolina has a more homogeneous and finer particle size than other mineral presentations. This ensures a homogenous mix and better sticking to the ration. It also ensures there is no dust when the minerals are used. As a result, mineral loss and the breeder’s well-being are improved.

Its major challenges are to innovate in order to improve the competitiveness of the livestock sector and to improve the nutritional and health quality of animal products, while meeting society’s expectations in terms of human health and environmental protection.

The CCPA GROUP is one of France’s leading players in private animal nutrition research, with a 1,500 m² chemistry and animal biology laboratory (Artémis), an R&D department, a monogastric research station (Euronutrition SAS) and a network of reference farms.
