Delta® Fibrae UAB, “An outstanding solution to ease feed transitions” [Breeder testimony]

“I didn’t have any other solution, so I accepted straight away when I was told about Delta® Fibrae UAB.”

Presentation of the livestock farm

Good milk quality. – UAA: 66 ha (natural grassland: 35; temporary grassland: 20; grain: 8; sowing under cover: 3)

Frédéric Garnier grazes his cows all year round. Since the installation of his Boumatic robot in December 2017, they go out after the morning robot run until 3pm. The cows therefore enjoy a semi-complete mixed ration every day. This ration is made up of 20 kg of grass silage, 5 kg of maize
cobs (bales), 2 kg of lucerne hay bought, 3 kg of cereals to the robot and 2 kg of nitrogen corrector (on average).

Before I went organic, I used yeast that was incorporated directly into the mineral. But in 2015, I ran out of solutions, so I immediately accepted when I was told about Delta® Fibrae UAB. I distribute 50g of it every day at the trough, along with a mineral and chestnut tannin. I have noticed that the ration was refused much less often. Also, feed intake is better, so the basic ration is better used. My animals are moving well and milk production is holding up well, despite an advanced average month. For me, as an organic farmer, live yeasts are an excellent solution for easing dietary transitions and optimising my herd’s production throughout lactation…

Yeasts that can be used in organic farming with Delta® Fibrae UAB

In March 2018, thanks to advice from his cooperative, Frédéric introduced Delta® Fibrae UAB for grazing or for the transition from winter ration to pasture. Delta® Fibrae UAB is a natural product containing live yeasts. These yeasts increase fibre digestibility: +89% on the ADF fibre fraction (source: publication from Journal of Dairy Science: Marden et al., 2008). Delta® Fibrae UAB values forages and improves digestive comfort: more digested fibre = less waste in dung.
The feed value of the ration is thus improved.
